Motion City Soundtrack

just a few pedalboards from musicians that i’ve taken pics of.

Circa Survive:

i really need a Martin 000-15.

The WH-10 is a wah pedal made by Ibanez. It was first released in 1987. They were made out of cheap plastic that would often break. They have a wide sweep and a knob to control the depth of the sweep.  Theres also a guitar/bass switch, giving it an even wider range of sounds. The first version was grey and green.

In 1992, they stopped making them in the grey and green, and in 1993, started making them in black and purple. It was the same thing, but there’s a little difference in the sound, and less of a volume boost.

In 1996, they discontinued the WH-10 completely. But in 2009, they re-released it as the WH-10v2. It is the exact same thing as the grey and green one, but now made out of diecast metal, not plastic. Now one won’t have to worry about breaking it as soon as they press down on it. And even better news: its only $99! unlike a vintage one which can go for hundreds of dollars on ebay.

If you listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, then you’ve probably heard what it sounds like, because former guitarist :(   John Frusciante is probably its most famous user and he uses it all the time.

So Electro-Harmonix is a guitar and bass effects pedal company that is based out of NYC. Though most of their products are effects for the guitar or bass, they’ve also got other things like microphones, vacuum tubes, a pedal bag,  amps, and even guitar strings! But their guitar effects are really cool and  unique sounding. I’ve only got a few though: the Small Clone (chorus), Big Muff (distortion/fuzz), Flanger Hoax (flanger), LPB-1 (volume booster) Microsynth (a synth pedal, i dont reall know how to categorize it haha.), and the Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai (delay/reverb/looper) They have so many other cool pedals that are amazing and i wish i had enough money for them, and/or the time to go a guitar store and sit for hours trying them out. And there are also sooooo many more vintage ones that i wish they’d reissue.
